Silent Depths, Part 5: Intimate Dialogues

Silent Depths, Part 5: Intimate Dialogues

August 15th - Evening, Phone Call

Ethan: picking up the call, voice warm “Hey, Lewa. How’s your evening?”

Lewa: smiling on her end “Hey, Ethan. It’s been good—just winding down with some tea. I’m glad you called.”

Ethan: “I wanted to hear your voice. So, tell me, how did you get into writing?”

Lewa: “Writing… it’s like breathing for me. It was my way of making sense of things, you know? Life wasn’t always easy.”

Ethan: “I get that. I feel it in your words. And for me, painting… it’s like each brushstroke says something words can’t. Ever feel that way?”

Lewa: softly “Completely. I don’t know how to write any other way. It’s just… honest.”

Ethan: “And that’s what I admire about you. You’re real, Lewa. From the first time we spoke, I felt it.”

Lewa: pausing, smiling “Thank you, Ethan. I felt that with you, too.”

Ethan: “I don’t want to keep you too long, but… I just wanted to say goodnight.”

Lewa: “Goodnight, Ethan. Talk tomorrow?”

Ethan: “Count on it. Sweet dreams, Lewa.”

August 22nd - Afternoon, Text Message

Ethan: texting “What would you do if you could be anywhere in the world right now?”

Lewa: replying after a moment “Hmm. Somewhere quiet. Maybe a little cabin by a lake. Me, my daughter, and… maybe someone special. You?”

Ethan: grinning as he types back “Sounds like I might have to earn that spot.”

Lewa: “You’re doing pretty well so far.”

September 5th - Evening, Phone Call

Ethan: calling her excitedly “Hey, Lewa! I just had a thought.”

Lewa: picking up, intrigued “Hey, Ethan! What’s on your mind?”

Ethan: “Have you ever thought about working on a project together? Like, maybe combining my art with your writing?”

Lewa: laughing “Oh, you mean me writing something and you illustrating it? I have to warn you—my writing can get intense.”

Ethan: chuckling “Good. I like intense. Maybe we can tell a story, something from both our perspectives.”

Lewa: thinking “You know, that could be incredible. Let’s talk more about it soon.”

Ethan: “Sounds like a plan. I’ll let you go, but think about it?”

Lewa: “Absolutely. Goodnight, Ethan.”

Ethan: “Goodnight, Lewa.”

September 10th - Evening, Phone Call

Ethan: calling, voice warm and a bit teasing “Hey, birthday girl. I know it’s coming up.”

Lewa: laughs “Oh, you remembered? I don’t usually make a big deal out of birthdays.”

Ethan: “Well, maybe I can change that. How about I make plans for us?”

Lewa: softly “I’d like that, Ethan. But really, nothing big. I just… don’t need much.”

Ethan: “It’s not about ‘big,’ Lewa. I just want to show you what you mean to me.”

Lewa: heart skipping a beat “You’re something else, Ethan.”

Ethan: “So I’ll see you soon? And happy early birthday.”

Lewa: “Looking forward to it. Goodnight, Ethan.”

Ethan: “Goodnight, Lewa.”

September 15th - Lewa’s Birthday, In-Person Visit

Lewa hears a knock at the door and opens it to see Ethan standing with wildflowers and a small wrapped book.

Ethan: “Happy Birthday, Lewa.”

Lewa: smiling, clearly touched “Ethan! You didn’t have to do this.”

Ethan: “I wanted to. Here, these are for you.” hands her the flowers and book

Lewa: opening the book “Is this… Oh my goodness, it’s that poetry collection! I haven’t seen this book in years.”

Ethan: “Took me a bit of searching, but I figured you’re worth the effort.”

Lewa: “Thank you, Ethan. This is… it means so much.”

Ethan: “How about a birthday lunch? Just us?”

Lewa: “I’d love that.”

They smile at each other as they head out together.

September 27th - Evening, Phone Call

Ethan: calling, a playful tone in his voice “Alright, Lewa, serious question: What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?”

Lewa: laughing “Well… I used to be obsessed with the Chicago Bulls back in the day. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen—the whole team. Even had a crush on Scottie Pippen.”

Ethan: laughs “No way! You? A basketball fan?”

Lewa: “I was! But I don’t follow it like I used to. I’m more of a Seahawks fan now.”

Ethan: “Hmm, I don’t know if I can let that slide. Seahawks?”

Lewa: “Yeah, yeah. You’ll survive.”

Ethan: “Alright, if you say so. Goodnight, Lewa.”

Lewa: “Goodnight, Ethan.”

October 2nd - Late Evening, Video Call

Ethan: smiling as he comes on screen “Hey, Lewa.”

Lewa: smiling back “Hey! Didn’t expect to hear from you tonight.”

Ethan: “Couldn’t help it. I wanted to tell you… I can’t stop thinking about you.”

Lewa: blushing “I… feel the same. This connection… it’s more than I expected.”

Ethan: “It feels right, doesn’t it? Like… we were meant to meet.”

Lewa: nodding, her voice soft “Yes. And it scares me a little, but… I like it.”

Ethan: “Good. Because I’m not going anywhere.”

October 10th - Evening, Texts

Ethan: texting “So… what’s your favorite season?”

Lewa: “Winter. I love the coziness, the excuse to bundle up, Christmas lights everywhere...”

Ethan: “I should’ve guessed! It’s so you. I’m a fall guy, though. Sweaters, crisp air, leaves changing…”

Lewa: “Fall is nice. But there’s something magical about winter. Cuddling by the fireplace, Christmas carols…”

Ethan: “Alright, maybe we’ll have to mix them together. Fall and winter date ideas coming up.”

Lewa: “Looking forward to it!”

October 15th - Evening, Park Walk

Ethan and Lewa meet in the park for a leisurely walk, the cool evening air making everything feel a bit more vibrant.

Ethan: offering her his arm as they stroll “So, what’s something you love to do when you’re not writing?”

Lewa: taking his arm, smiling “I love being out in nature, just like this. And swimming. Something about the water just calms me.”

Ethan: “I can see that. You’ve got this calm presence about you. I love that.”

Lewa: “Thank you. What about you? I know you’re a painter, but there has to be more.”

Ethan: laughing “Well, I guess I’m a bit of a nature buff too. Hiking, camping... anything outdoors really. And reading. I can get lost in a good book.”

Lewa: “You’re a reader? I love that. What’s the last book that really got you thinking?”

Ethan: thinking “Probably The Alchemist. Made me think about the journey, about finding your own path. What about you?”

Lewa: “Caged Bird. I felt every word. It’s like she poured her soul into it. I try to do that with my writing.”

They walk in silence for a moment, enjoying the connection between them.

Ethan: breaking the silence “You know, Lewa… I’m glad we met. It feels… rare. Special.”

Lewa: smiling up at him “Me too. I feel like I can be myself around you.”

Ethan: “I hope you always do.”

They continue walking, wrapped up in their deepening connection.

October 25th - Ethan’s Birthday, Beach Outing

Ethan and Lewa sit on the beach, a small picnic set up with some of their favorite snacks. The sun is setting, casting a warm glow across the sand.

Ethan: smiling, looking at her “Thank you for making today so perfect, Lewa.”

Lewa: smiling back “I’m just glad you wanted to spend it with me. You’re a year older now—how does it feel?”

Ethan: “Feels a little more meaningful this year. Having you here makes it better than any other birthday I’ve had.”

Lewa: reaching over, squeezing his hand “I’m glad I could be part of it.”

Ethan: “And here’s to more birthdays together. Maybe this becomes our thing—sunset birthdays by the beach.”

Lewa: laughing “I’d love that.”

As the evening wears on, they both find themselves lying back on the sand, watching the stars begin to dot the sky.

Ethan: voice soft “I could stay like this forever. Just… right here, with you.”

Lewa: “Same. This… it’s perfect.”

Without meaning to, they both drift off, their hands loosely intertwined, lulled by the sound of the waves.

October 30th - Evening, Video Call

Ethan: seeing her on screen, his smile warm and reassuring “Hey, Lewa. It’s good to see you.”

Lewa: smiling, though her eyes reveal some hesitation “Hey, Ethan. I... I wanted to talk to you about something.”

Ethan: sensing the weight in her voice “Of course, Lewa. Whatever it is, I’m here.”

Lewa: pauses, gathering her thoughts “I feel safe with you, Ethan, but... sometimes I realize I’m still holding back. It’s like, even though I want to let you in, there’s this part of me that’s... cautious.”

Ethan: nods, listening intently “I completely understand. Trust doesn’t come easy, especially when you’ve had to rely on yourself for so long. There’s no pressure with me, Lewa. Take your time.”

Lewa: looking down for a moment, then meeting his eyes “It’s just… I’ve been through a lot, and there were times when I didn’t feel like I could trust anyone. I learned to be strong alone. But being with you… it’s like a part of me wants to let down all those walls. And that scares me, Ethan.”

Ethan: voice soft and steady “Lewa, I appreciate your honesty more than you know. You’re not alone in this; I want to earn your trust, day by day. I’m not going anywhere.”

Lewa: a tear slips down her cheek, her voice barely above a whisper “Thank you, Ethan. It means so much to have someone who’s willing to be patient with me… and with Marianna. She’s my world.”

Ethan: his voice warm and understanding “And she’s important to me too, Lewa. You both are.”

Lewa: taking a shaky breath, her voice hesitant but hopeful “Would you… would you pray for us? For me… and Marianna?”

Ethan: deeply touched, his voice filled with warmth and gratitude “Of course, Lewa. I’d be honored.”

He closes his eyes and takes a centering breath, then begins to pray with reverence.

Ethan: “Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You tonight with a heart full of gratitude for bringing Lewa and Marianna into my life. Thank You for Lewa’s strength, her courage, and her willingness to share her journey with me. Lord, I ask that You bless Lewa, that You bring peace to her heart and soothe the fears she carries. Watch over her daughter, Marianna, and help her to feel loved, supported, and safe. Guide us as we build this bond and help us both to approach each other with patience and grace. May Lewa know that she is cherished, that she is enough, and that her trust will never be taken for granted. In Your name, we pray. Amen.”

Lewa: wiping a tear, her voice soft and filled with emotion “Thank you, Ethan. That... that meant so much.”

Ethan: smiling gently “I’m here for you, Lewa, every step of the way. You’re not alone anymore.”

Lewa: taking a steadying breath, her voice finally calm “Goodnight, Ethan. Thank you, for everything.”

Ethan: “Goodnight, Lewa. Sweet dreams. I’ll be here whenever you need me.”

November 8th - Evening, Phone Call

Ethan: cheerfully “Hey, Lewa! How are you and Marianna? How was Halloween?”

Lewa: laughing “Oh, Halloween was great! I was actually a princess this year, and Marianna chose her favorite character from that show she loves. She was so excited—she even double-checked to make sure my tiara was just right.”

Ethan: chuckling “A princess, huh? I can picture it. Did you two go trick-or-treating?”

Lewa: “We did! We hit a few neighborhood events, and then we came back to pass out candy. Seeing all the little costumes made me smile. How about you? Did you dress up?”

Ethan: “Not this year, but I handed out candy and watched some Halloween classics. Nothing too wild, but it was a nice night. I kept thinking how much more fun it’d be with you two around.”

Lewa: smiling softly “That sounds nice. Maybe next year we can make it a Halloween to remember together.”

Ethan: gently shifting “I’d like that. So… how are you holding up tonight? With the election news, I mean.”

Lewa: sighing “Honestly, I’m anxious. Trump winning feels... heavy. Like it brings out a side of this country I’ve tried to protect Marianna from. I’m worried, Ethan.”

Ethan: reassuringly “I get it, Lewa. It’s unsettling, but you’re not facing this alone. We’ll face it together, one day at a time.”

Lewa: grateful “Thank you. It means so much to hear you say that. I’m just scared—for Marianna, for our future. And I want her to feel safe, to grow up in a world where she can thrive.”

Ethan: thoughtfully “She will. You’ve raised her with so much strength, Lewa. She’s got that foundation. And now, she has me too. We’ll be there for her, together.”

Lewa: smiling through a bit of relief “Thank you, Ethan. You don’t know how much your support means to me.” pauses, then shifts the conversation “But enough about me—what about you? How are you feeling about everything?”

Ethan: “Well, it’s definitely weighing on me, but I try to keep my mind on the good things. I remind myself that even in times like these, there’s still so much to be grateful for. I focus on the people who bring light into my life... like you.”

Lewa: touched “That’s beautiful. I’ve been trying to do the same, but it’s hard sometimes. You really have this way of grounding me.”

Ethan: “That’s what I’m here for, love. You know, this election doesn’t change the fact that we have each other, or that we’re building something real. We’ll keep moving forward, no matter what.”

Lewa: “Thank you, Ethan. I just wish I could shake this feeling of... fear. It’s like I’m always waiting for the other shoe to drop.”

Ethan: “You don’t have to face it alone. Every time you feel that fear, just know I’m right here, standing beside you. And remember, we have something special. Let’s keep our eyes on that.”

Lewa: smiling, feeling a bit calmer “I appreciate that. And I... I actually wanted to ask you a favor.”

Ethan: “Of course. Anything.”

Lewa: pausing thoughtfully “Would you pray with me tonight? I feel like I just need that peace, that grounding.”

Ethan: gently “Absolutely, Lewa. I’d be honored to.”

They both take a moment, closing their eyes as Ethan begins to pray, his voice soft and steady.

Ethan: “Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You tonight with humble hearts. We ask that You bless and protect us through these uncertain times. Thank You for the gift of this love we’ve found and for bringing us into each other’s lives. Watch over Lewa and Marianna, give them comfort, strength, and a sense of safety. Guide us as we build this relationship together, that we may be a source of strength, kindness, and compassion for each other. May our love grow deeper and our trust stronger, and may we always find courage in You. In Your name, we pray. Amen.”

Lewa: feeling deeply touched, wiping a tear “Thank you, Ethan. That was... exactly what I needed to hear.”

Ethan: softly “Anytime, Lewa. We’re in this together, always.”

Lewa: whispering “Goodnight, Ethan.”

Ethan: “Goodnight, beautiful. Sweet dreams.”

November 9th - Morning, Phone Call

Ethan: softly “Good morning, love. Did I catch you at a good time?”

Lewa: smiling through her morning voice “Good morning, Ethan. Perfect timing. Just relaxing a little before the day picks up. How’s your morning been?”

Ethan: “Pretty quiet. Had some coffee and spent some time on the porch, thinking. I was actually thinking about our last conversation, about trust and everything. I want you to know how much it meant to me that you shared all that with me.”

Lewa: thoughtfully “Thank you, Ethan. It feels good knowing you’re there. I don’t open up like that often, but with you… I feel safe, you know?”

Ethan: smiling “I’m glad, love. I want you to feel that way. I know trust is earned, and I’m in no rush—just grateful to be here with you.”

Lewa: “That means a lot, Ethan. Honestly, I feel like we’re finding a kind of rhythm with each other, and it’s nice.” pauses, chuckling “Even Marianna mentioned that I seem happier lately. It’s sweet how she notices everything.”

Ethan: “Marianna sounds like a smart, observant kid. I’d love to get to know her more, too—if that’s something you’re comfortable with.”

Lewa: smiling softly “I’d like that too. She’s curious, so full of life. I think you two would get along well. She’s really into books and art like we are.”

Ethan: “A natural fit, then. Sounds like she’s already got the heart of a creative. But speaking of art, I was going through some old sketches earlier, thinking how inspiring it would be to create with you nearby.” pauses “Actually, that’s something I wanted to talk to you about.”

Lewa: curious “Oh? What’s that?”

Ethan: “Well, I was thinking… what if we took a weekend trip? Just the two of us, somewhere we could relax and enjoy each other’s company without any distractions. I know a quiet spot down by the coast. It’s secluded, and we could just walk along the beach, maybe have a picnic, get away from everything.”

Lewa: excitedly “That sounds beautiful, Ethan. I would love that. I could find a sitter for Marianna. She’s been asking for a sleepover with her friends anyway, so she’ll be happy, too.”

Ethan: warmly “Perfect. I’ll pick you up in about an hour, then?”

Lewa: smiling wide “I’ll be ready. I can’t wait, Ethan.”

Ethan: affectionately “Me neither, love. See you soon.”

November 9th - Late Morning, Car Ride

Ethan: smiling as he opens the car door for her “Good morning again, love. You look stunning.”

Lewa: blushing as she gets in “Thank you, Ethan. You always know how to make me smile. I’m excited about this, but… I have to admit, I’m a little nervous, too.”

Ethan: closes her door and walks around to get in the driver’s seat “Nervous? Why? It’s just us, love. And today is all about relaxing, enjoying each other’s company.”

Lewa: smiling softly “I know, I know. It’s just… I don’t usually do things like this. It feels almost surreal. Like, here I am, heading to the coast with this amazing guy who makes me feel so at ease.”

Ethan: chuckling, glancing over as he starts the car “You know, I’m a little nervous, too. It’s not every day I get to whisk a beautiful woman away to one of my favorite places.”

Lewa: laughing “You’re just saying that to make me feel better.”

Ethan: “Not at all. This is special for me, too. I want today to be a memory we can both look back on, something simple and meaningful. No stress, no expectations.”

Lewa: exhaling softly, nodding “That sounds perfect. I think I just need to let myself relax and enjoy the moment.” pauses, looking out the window “So, tell me about this place. Have you been going there a long time?”

Ethan: “Yeah, since I was a kid. My family used to drive out to the coast every summer. This little beach has always been my escape—a place I go to when I need to clear my head. It’s quiet, tucked away, and it almost feels like a little secret.”

Lewa: thoughtfully “That sounds like a beautiful tradition. I’ve always loved the beach, too. The sound of the waves… there’s something so calming about it, like all your worries just drift away.”

Ethan: reaching over to squeeze her hand briefly “Exactly. And today, we’ll have that calm all to ourselves.” glances at her with a warm smile “Anything specific you’d like to do when we get there?”

Lewa: thinking “Well, I’d love to walk along the shore with you, just talk and maybe even dip our toes in the water if it’s not too cold.” laughs “Though, I have to warn you—I’m a big fan of collecting seashells.”

Ethan: grinning “You’re in luck, then. This beach has plenty of shells. We might have to bring back a few as souvenirs.”

Lewa: “I like that idea. You’ll have to help me find the prettiest ones.” pauses, glancing over at him “Thank you for planning all this, Ethan. It means a lot.”

Ethan: smiling softly “Anything for you, love. I want you to feel special, because you are. I’m just glad you agreed to come with me.”

Lewa: reaches over and squeezes his hand “Of course. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.” takes a deep breath “You know, I feel like I’m learning more about myself just by being around you.”

Ethan: looking over briefly, touched “That goes both ways, Lewa. You make me feel… comfortable being myself, if that makes sense. Like, I don’t have to put on any pretenses around you.”

Lewa: smiling “I feel the same. There’s just this… ease between us, like I’ve known you forever.” pauses, chuckling “Isn’t it funny how life works? How one day, everything changes because you meet the right person?”

Ethan: “It really is. I think that’s one of the things I’m most grateful for—that our paths crossed.” gazes at her warmly before returning his focus to the road “So, when we get there, let’s make today about us. Let’s talk, laugh, and just… be.”

Lewa: smiling, feeling her nerves fade “I’d like that a lot, Ethan. Just you, me, and the waves.”

November 9th - Sunset, Beach

They lay on the sand together, wrapped in a warm, oversized blanket. The sky is painted in hues of orange and pink, with the waves gently crashing in the distance. Lewa rests her head on Ethan's shoulder, feeling a mix of comfort and nervousness.

Ethan: smiling as he looks at her “You know, this feels like something out of a dream. Just you and me, the sunset… I don’t think I’d want to be anywhere else.”

Lewa: nervously fidgeting with a corner of the blanket “Yeah… it’s beautiful. I haven’t felt this at peace in a long time.”

Ethan: gazing out at the waves “It’s funny, isn’t it? How some people just… come into your life, and everything feels different. Better. I never thought I’d be here, feeling this way.”

Lewa: her heart pounding, hesitantly “Yeah, me neither. It’s… it’s kind of scary, you know? How quickly someone can become important.”

Ethan: turning to look at her, sensing her nerves “Scary? How so?”

Lewa: taking a deep breath, avoiding his eyes “Well… you let someone in, and it’s like… suddenly, they have a part of you. It’s vulnerable, but… it feels right with you.” murmurs softly, almost to herself “I think I might… I think I might love you, Ethan.”

She realizes what she said, her face flushing with embarrassment. She immediately tries to stand up, moving toward the shore.

Lewa: stammering “I’m… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to— I mean, I meant it, but I… I didn’t mean to say it. Not like that. I should’ve kept that to myself.” turning, beginning to walk down the beach, visibly anxious

Ethan quickly stands up, stepping after her and gently grabbing her hand, stopping her from walking away.

Ethan: softly “Lewa, hey… don’t go. Please.”

Lewa: turning back, a mix of vulnerability and worry in her eyes “Ethan, I didn’t… I don’t want you to feel pressured to say anything back. I’m sorry, I know it’s too soon. I just— I don’t want to ruin this by rushing things.”

Ethan: looking deeply into her eyes, holding her hand gently “You didn’t ruin anything, love. I’m… I’m honestly just grateful you’d even feel that way.”

Lewa: biting her lip, glancing away “You don’t have to say it back. Really, I mean that. I just… I don’t want it to be something you say because you feel you should, you know? I want you to say it because… because you truly feel it.”

Ethan: pulls her a little closer, his voice steady “I wouldn’t say it unless I meant it, Lewa. But I do want you to know… you don’t have to be afraid to be yourself with me. Whatever you feel, whenever you’re ready to say it, you can. You don’t have to walk away.”

Lewa feels her cheeks flush, still uncertain, but comforted by his words.

Lewa: softly “You make it sound so simple… But it’s not, Ethan. Love, it’s… it’s terrifying to me. I’ve been hurt before, and… I just, I don’t want to put myself out there and end up—”

Ethan: interrupting gently “Hurt again? I get it. I really do.” he squeezes her hand reassuringly “But that’s the thing with us. I don’t ever want you to feel like you have to hold back or worry about what I’m feeling. You don’t need to protect yourself from me, Lewa. I’m here, with you, and I want you to trust that.”

She looks up at him, her eyes searching his face, unsure of what to say.

Lewa: whispering “I don’t know why I feel so safe with you… It’s like, I’m terrified of getting hurt, but at the same time, I can’t imagine not being around you.”

Ethan: smiling softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face “Then don’t imagine it. Don’t let fear keep you from what’s right in front of you.” pauses, his voice tender “I care about you, Lewa. Deeply. And I’m here, no matter how long it takes for you to feel safe with me.”

Lewa: smiling a little, blinking away the mist in her eyes “You really know how to say the right things… You have this way of making me feel like I can actually trust this, trust us. Even though it scares me.”

Ethan: with a warm smile “Maybe because deep down, you know it’s real.”

They stand there for a moment, the gentle sound of waves filling the silence between them. She slowly lets go of her hesitation and leans into him, resting her head against his chest.

Lewa: murmuring “Thank you, Ethan… For not letting me run.”

Ethan: holding her close, whispering “I’m not going anywhere, love. I’m right here, for as long as you’ll have me.”

They stand there, wrapped in each other’s warmth, watching the sunset fade into the horizon, knowing that whatever they’re building together is worth every fear and every leap of faith.

November 9th - Evening, Ethan's Place

After leaving the beach, Ethan and Lewa drive in comfortable silence. Ethan suggests they go back to his place instead of the hotel he had planned for their weekend stay, feeling that the intimacy of his home fits the warmth of their evening. Lewa agrees, her heart still fluttering from their earlier conversation.

Once they arrive, Ethan leads her into his cozy living room. They settle on the couch, the atmosphere soft and familiar, with the warmth of their connection filling the quiet space.

Ethan: smiling as he leans back, his hand resting on hers “This… feels right. Just us, here, in this quiet space.”

Lewa: smiling softly, looking around “It does. I didn’t expect tonight to feel like… like this.”

Ethan: gently squeezing her hand “I think that’s what I’ve loved about us since the beginning. Everything feels like it just falls into place when I’m with you.”

They sit quietly, the soft hum of the city outside blending with the calm inside. Ethan turns to face her, his gaze tender, filled with sincerity.

Ethan: “Lewa, I need you to know… you mean the world to me. I know it’s only been six months, but it feels like we’ve been connected forever.” pauses, gathering his thoughts “You’ve become my second nature, love. I can’t imagine my days without you in them.”

Lewa feels her heart skip a beat, the depth of his words sinking in. She looks up at him, her eyes shining with emotion.

Lewa: whispering “I feel the same way, Ethan. You’ve come into my life in a way that… it’s hard to put into words. I didn’t think I’d ever find someone who makes me feel so understood.”

Ethan reaches up, gently tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering on her cheek.

Ethan: softly “I love you, Lewa. So much. I don’t know when it happened, but somewhere along the way, I realized you’ve become everything I’ve been looking for.”

Lewa feels a warmth spread through her, her fears and hesitations melting away in the face of his gentle honesty. She lets out a soft breath, feeling the weight of his words.

Lewa: leaning in closer, her voice barely above a whisper “I love you too, Ethan… I’ve been so scared of saying it, but it’s true.”

They share a tender, heartfelt kiss, sealing the unspoken promises between them. When they pull back, they smile, knowing that they’ve both taken a leap together.

Ethan: whispering against her forehead “I’m here, love. For every moment, every fear, every joy. I’m right here.”

Lewa: resting her head against his chest, feeling completely at peace “And I’m here with you, Ethan. Wherever this takes us.”

They sit on the couch, wrapped in each other’s arms, feeling the beginning of something beautiful and knowing that whatever comes next, they’ll face it together.
